Coffee place Zurich: Sprüngli
A favorite spot for locals on Paradeplatz is Confiserie Sprüngli. Head up to the first floor to soak in the nostaligic coffee-house atmosphere.
The family-run business first opened a store and bakery here in 1845 and later set up a refreshment room, something very unusual in Zurich. That was because ladies were able to enjoy their coffee here without having to be accompanied by a gentleman. Bahnhofstrasse later developed into one of the most renowned shopping miles in the world.
Opens early for breakfast with a gipfeli (a Swiss-style croissant) and a schale (a bowl of coffee) or enjoy lunch here with delicious quiche and make sure to take home a selection of Luxemburgerli - resembles a French macaron filled with cream
